Kenn Hoekstra- My name is Kenn Hoekstra and I'm the Project Administrator for Raven Software...
Kenn Hoekstra- It's a difficult process and kids, don't try this at home...
JEFF K - What decided to yuo too make soldar of fortune? Where yuo at teh gas station and saw maagzazines and says yuo wants to make a game about magazine s but couldant make "Bettar Homes and Gardans" into a good gaem and so yuo made Soldar of Fortune???
Kenn Hoekstra - Um...not exactly. We wanted to make an action game that took place in the real world with real situations, enemies, weapons and environments. Activision suggested getting the SoF license and we ran with it.
Kenn Hoekstra - Yeah.
Kenn Hoekstra - Well, we wanted to throw in a high tech weapon or two to show the player that "The Shop" wasn't a Mickey Mouse operation. We read about a prototype MPG in the Jane's weapon guide so we took creative license with it.
Kenn Hoekstra - Jane is our little invisible friend... She writes war stuff books.
Kenn Hoekstra - John was too busy clearing out the Subway to enjoy the rest of New York... =)
Kenn Hoekstra - Actually, you can give yourself unlimited saves in the custom options menu. The Shop must have been all out of magic coins that day...
Kenn Hoekstra - Um...you're welcome.
Kenn Hoekstra - I think we've done our part to stay out of the good Colonel's line of fire. The parental lock options and low violence version of the game should answer most of his concerns. What's wrong with Clowns and Love?
Kenn Hoekstra - Actually, I have seen that movie... A Klassic, if I do say so myself...
Kenn Hoekstra - Heh...I'll pass your Arby's idea by Activision and the team leads. Maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but I think they'll love it!
Kenn Hoekstra - I'll have to talk to George Rose, Activision's lawyer about that. He handles the contract stuff...
Kenn Hoekstra - Well...the contracts that John Mullins doesn't handle, anyway...
Kenn Hoekstra - Quake II was the best option for us at the time since we just finished using for Heretic II when we started SoF...
Kenn Hoekstra - Yep. Corvus...
Kenn Hoekstra - That's the one.
