Fatal Relations

This picture sums up a few, but by no means all, of the things wrong with this game.Game Plot: One of my favorite characters from the Street Fighter games has always been Ken. He was the blond ass-kicker to Ryu's solemn brunette, but things went downhill when "Street Fighter 2: Ultimate Fighters Omega Edition" came out and suddenly Ken was wearing a pink outfit. Things had gotten a little too homoerotic for my blood and the name of Ken was forever tarnished by the pink-robed wonder grunting in the Russian bear hug of Zangief. For all the damage done to the good name of Kens everywhere it was nothing in comparison to Fatal Relations, in which you take on the role of a completely heterosexual but vastly more disturbing Ken.

You are adopted by a woman who lives in a huge mansion with her five daughters and their helpful maid Sayori. Actually, even though it is repeatedly described as huge, the mansion only appears to have eight rooms, which puts it just above the sheer massiveness of my two bedroom apartment. The five daughters are each a delightful stereotypical character. You've got "Smarty", "Sporty", "Youngy", "Angryy", and "Sicky". You are informed through fawning text when you encounter each that they are incredibly beautiful, much like their mother and the maid and possibly a rock sitting outside and that lamp over there and whatever else your character lays eyes on.

Your first sexual contact with each of your adopted sisters involves a weak scenario that relates to their particular stereotype. Whereas Sporty challenges you to an arm wrestling competition and then begins giving you a rimjob, Sicky collapses on the ground and needs molestation to refill her health bar. In fact Sicky is so sick that her ass is thinking about things, I took a screenshot of it contemplating peanuts since I would think that would be the sort of thing asses would contemplate. Smarty quizzes you on things like math and movies, while Angryy just tells you what you're going to do and you had better do it because oh boy is she angry. Youngy is a different and far more disturbing story. The game makes no effort to hide that she is definitely below the age of consent in any state except maybe Hawaii, but I think they have sex with third-trimester pregnancies in Honolulu so I'm not counting that backwards heathen island. No, the game goes to great lengths to point out just how "underdeveloped" she is, and for once an underage female character does not have gigantic breasts, although her head is satisfyingly gigantic and melon-like.

This is not one of the worst things said about her age in the game, it's just the only one I thought I could post without breaking a law somewhere because of the accompanying image.All things like "rationality" and "morals" and the "law aside", I don't know how concerned I would really get about having consensual sex with my 15 year old semi-sister only one day after being mounted like a stuffed deer head by my adoptive mother. Following this first round of family fun your character as well as all of the other characters begin to degenerate into completely out-of-control sex fiends. Ken, afraid of what he is becoming, confronts the maid and is told to "stay sane for all of us". Then he finds her getting whipped and molested by his sorta-mom she reverses her previous story and claims to love the craziness. Later she returns to Ken's room to explain herself, but rather then simply doing just that, she insists that Ken urinates on her face as a means of an explanation. I'm not sure how this works exactly, but the golden facial provokes some sort of catharsis in Ken and he realizes that Sayori was just going along with his mom. I'm not really sure how, the game never explains it, but she is making everyone magically sex crazy. Of course the only way to celebrate a life-changing awakening like that experienced during the tinkle party is to engage in some hardcore fucking, and Ken and the maid proceed to "get bizzay".

I'm glossing over several insane sub-plots, so please allow me to digress and touch on these briefly before I explain the startling finale of Fatal Relations.

All of the sister's are crazy in love with Ken and a heated battle develops among them to win his affections. This involves Youngy trying to injure Sporty and Smarty, lots of lesbian sex that has no weak-ass "adoption" excuse and Angryy giving an enema to Sicky. Distraught at your divided attention Sicky eventually attempts suicide, which to my disappointment she fails to complete. Then Ken turns into a nutty sex predator and walks around angrily demanding sex from various sisters like he's asking them to give back the CD he loaned them. As desperate to win him over as the developers were desperate to reuse that transparent penis bitmap, they of course indulge him.

Eventually you come to your senses and ask Sayori to escape with you from the sex house, only to have your attempt to elope foiled by a shotgun-toting foster mom. She menaces you and Sayori into compliance and hog-ties you both in the super sexy sex basement of the sex house. She explains that she is behind all the craziness because her husband ran off with previous maid, although she never even attempts to explain how she made everyone go crazy. She tells Ken that she "needs his seed" so she won't kill him, but Sayori has outlived her usefulness. Then she insists that, and I will quote the game here because I don't want to get this wrong, "I want you to fuck [Sayori] in her ass and then shit on her." Realizing the only way to save Sayori is by fucking her and shitting on her, Ken begins the anal assault but manages to untie her before the expected steaming brown finale.

Incensed, mom levels the shotgun and is about to fire when Ken's life is saved by Sicky who has arisen from her grave as surely as any Altered Beast just in time to save your life. Then somehow an apocalyptic fire starts and Youngy holds mom within the flames as they consume the house and the entire family. Don't worry, Ken makes it out, and he and Sayori will no doubt start anew and have absolutely no emotional scars from this experience.

According to the Internet Adult Film Database "Pulp Friction" starred Shelby Stevens, Tina Tyler, AND Crystal Wilder, among others!Gameplay: The limited number of locations in "Fatal Relations" actually work in its favor, reducing the amount of repetitive look and think horseshit you generally find in these games. The fact that virtually every action you undertake in the game results in a sex scene also serves to break up the tedious drab scenery shots with slightly less tedious grainy nudity. Often Fatal Relations only simulates interaction by having two or more options, but only one that actually advances the scenario you are currently in. Other times you will have multiple valid options but ultimately still only one course of action. Take for example the six-question quiz you are given by Smarty. Each question has three possible answers and you can choose any of them, but if you choose incorrectly your only option is to attempt the entire quiz again from the beginning.

Difficulty: The game is fairly long in comparison to a speedy click-fest like Time Stripper Mako or X-Change, but it is extremely linear despite attempts to make you think otherwise. This translates to a very easy game and absolutely no replayability, although why anyone would replay let alone play any of these games as a personal choice for enjoyment is beyond my ability to comprehend.

Everything wrong with Fatal Relations that the first picture missed, this one includes.Defining Moment: You can't pass up the plot's main turning point as not only the defining moment but possibly the most inexplicably bizarre moment in any Hentai game I have yet played. I am of course referring to the point when everything seems up in the air and no one is giving you answers, so to solve all of your problems you are coaxed into urinating in the maid's face. Compared to underage semi-incestuous sexual intercourse or having sex with your foster parent this is not really even that perverse, but it's just so mind-bogglingly nonsensical that you have to give it the top honors.

I could spend time thinking about the symbolism involved and how the urine could represent a quest for forbidden knowledge, and Sayori's open mouth could represent the answers being sought, and her tears could symbolize man's hubris. I won't though, because all roads that involve much contemplation about these games inevitably lead to me committing hate crimes against the Japanese.

Final Thoughts: Fatal Relations brings no perversion to the Hentai game table that we have not already dined on before in these reviews. What it does offer is a relentless barrage of just about every single perverse sex act not involving aliens, robots, or animals. Really, the sex is almost non stop in this game, and often is explained so poorly that I get the feeling they were going for some sort of pornographic Power Point presentation and then decided to give it a broader market appeal.
