The Maid's Story

Game Plot: Hentai games have a proud tradition of believable plots, and in the case of The Maid's Story the plot centers on your character being a jobless college student. You are approached by your basement dwelling friend with the rumor of a job opening working as the supervisor of a small maid's school. Naturally you check it out and take the job, running the mansion and bringing up three maids. Part of being a professional maid is apparently having your ass violated and pissing in a cat litter box, because these things also factor into your no-nonsense training regime. You have ninety-days to whip the three maids into shape, raising their statistics in categories like "Cleaning", "Washing" and the nebulous "Service" in preparation for the final one-time "maid exam". Turning you loose on these three girls is something like turning a starved tiger loose on sheep with raw steaks stapled to their face. You can set them to tasks, overwork them to the point of collapse, and then visit their rooms at night and train them in date rape followed by exhaustion seizures. The game could be very easily adapted graphically to fit a "Punishing Demon Hellworld" theme; a few more tentacles and some brimstone and you'd be all set.

Gameplay: Every day you set a schedule for the three girls with activities like cleaning or shopping making up the bulk of the day's work. If you have one of about four different visitors stop by you can set one of the maids to "service" which involves serving them tea and usually getting raped or beaten by them. Each of the maids has a fatigue bar similar to the health bars in a fighting game like street fighter. Regular activities like cleaning or laundry will tire them only slightly; the real exhausting work comes at night when you can visit any one of the three girls and train them in the more perverse arts of being a maid. Each of the three girls has slightly different options and toys can be purchased from a sass-talking merchant to add to the variety of choices.

Please, be making to do a blowjob, it is like circus trick for proud Russians.The three girls each start with a percentage score of 1 and you have to work training them (read: molesting and raping them) in an effort to raise the percentage score to 100%. Oddly enough the girls also have a meter which I believe symbolizes how much they like you. By praising them throughout the day or buying them gifts like a box of chocolates you can easily offset the bad feelings over the previous night's violent sexual assault and demeaning insults. You don't have to though since they'll continue to submit to your evil advances whether or not you try to "make it up to them".

Early on when you're abusing the maids it's pretty amusing because it won't reward you by switching the picture from them standing there smiling even though the text is describing various horrible things you are doing to them. The juxtaposition between their vacant-eyed grinning face and a quote like "No…please…stop…don't…nnnnnggghh" is both disconcerting and hilarious.

Difficulty: Compared to most hentai games "The Maid's Story" is admittedly complex. You don't just click through menus of text until you have covered enough options to advance the retarded plot to the next sexual setting, here you have to work the maids to get positive results. There is a shit load of repetition, a concept which is omnipresent in hentai games and must be comforting or erotic to the actual target audience for games like this. Despite the differences, it's still a fucking easy game, it just takes extra repetition to "train" the maids into behaving properly when you attempt to defile them.

Okay, maybe he is a little bit over the top, much like Sylvester Stallone in the smash hit movie "Over the Top" only with less arm wrestling and more "leaking and bleeding".Defining Moment: The first visitor, definitely. The first visitor I got was the player's ex girlfriend, a poorly drawn blonde bimbo who seemed to delight more than any of the other visitors in tormenting the maids. The girl I selected to give her service ended up dropping the tea, which prompted the good old ex to shove her to the ground and grab a whip that I apparently had laying around. She asked if I used it on the girls and my character responded that indeed he did. She then whipped the poor maid mercilessly. After a time I was presented with the option of intervening on the behalf of the maid or joining in with the whipping. Well jeez, she spilled some fucking tea, hand me that thing. After I whipped the crap out of the maid the ex offered to have sex with me for three-hundred dollars. Naturally I accepted, because nothing gets my motor running like whipping a defenseless young woman while my sadistic ex girlfriend gloats in the background. It all worked out in the end though because I went to the maid's room after the day was over and told her she was doing a good job, thus restoring the whipping-related loss on the affection meter.

Final Thoughts: "The Maid's Story" does not feature particularly perverse sex acts when compared to the majority of other Hentai games, yet I find it to be probably the most repugnant of any I've played. This stems from the frequency and level of casual abuse in the game, which ranges from calling the maids stupid and threatening them with violence to raping them and then mocking how inadequately they performed during the rape. What makes it worse is the fact that it actually achieves a positive affect with the maids in that the more you abuse them the better they get work done or the more skilled they become in sex acts. The game makes it barely possible to be nice to them at all, and even if you are a lot of the pre-scripted comments border on abuse, not to mention the attacks perpetrated in your company by visitors to the mansion. The source of the popularity of those delightful Japanese van-rape videos I've seen has never been more clear to me, and as usual I find myself with no choice but to blame every flaw in the Japanese culture on these horrible fucking games. I'm really glad it was translated to English, hopefully in five to ten years the van-rape aisle at the nearby Blockbuster will not be so woefully understocked.
