Answers In Genesis
Answers In Genesis, submitted by Fabian. Answers In Genesis is a wholesome website which was created for the purpose of explaining, in the shortest words possible, why rational thought and scientific experimentation. The page I've linked contains a very well written piece of speculative fiction about dinosaurs and (suprise!) the Bible.
In the Bible, in Job 40:15-24, God describes to Job (who lived after the Flood) a great beast with which Job was familiar. This great animal, called ‘behemoth,’ is described as ‘the chief of the ways of God,’ perhaps the biggest land animal God had created. Impressively, he moved his tail like a cedar tree! Although some Bible commentaries say this may have been an elephant or hippopotamus, the description actually fits that of a dinosaur like Brachiosaurus. Elephants and hippos certainly do not have tails like cedar trees!
That is impressive! I thought the only thing that could resemble a cedar tree was another cedar. Although I guess the layperson could get cedar trees confused with other trees, and if you follow that out to its logical conclusion, it's conceivable that someone stupid enough could find similarities between anything and a cedar tree, including doorknobs, airplanes, sand and even animal tails.
