Mood Music
It may strike you as odd that, in Hill Valley, orchestrated music plays out of nowhere, often emphasizing mood and/or action. Don't bother wasting your time looking for musicians hidden in the background of every scene, though: Back to the Future uses what's called a soundtrack, which exists outside the context of the movie's reality. Nice one, composer Alan Silvestri--you almost got us with that movie magic!
